Is there an API call to power down the palm screen?
I don't want to go into sleep mode.
I am looking into the WinScreenMode() API set, but have not found any definative way to actually power it down.
There's no one way to do this that works on all Palm OS devices. This falls into "hardware-specific" techniques. For example, the pluggedin.palmone.com site has a header that lets you turn off the screen on many PalmOne devices. The Treo 600 SDK has a section on "REM Sleep" which is another technique to continue doing processing while the screen is disabled. There is other info in Sony's CLIE SDK, IIRC. However, I don't know of any resource that summarizes all of this information for you.
