maybe you should take a look at the Bluetooth-Forum, you might find more specialists there.
I've posted a thread there (last week). In general I have the experience that inbound traffic (to the Palm) seems to be slower than outbound traffic (I have a T2). Maybe you could check if that's the case with you too. But I have only speculations on why that is so.
Someone mentioned that when you switch master and slave roles (PC beeing the master), maybe you would get an increase in speed, as the slaves need to wait till they are periodically polled by the master. But I haven't tried that yet.
I use rfcomm sockets (you didn't tell us what you use :-) ).
