We're trying the Absoluteword jpeg decompression
library. So far it's pretty cool. It's fast and works
great on OS 5 devices.

It looks like it doesn't have error diffusion (a.k.a
dithering). So image quality is poor on 8 bit or lower
devices. How do the other jpeg libraries do with lower
bit depth displays? If we decide to use jpeg images
then they need to look good on many devices. We
believe in the "one application that can run on
everything" philosophy.

Has anyone else used this jpeg library from their own
code? I'm curious how it went and if there were any
problems or tricks we can share.
