I just discovered that under many circumstances, the program you are using keeps processing when the PDA is turned off so long as the PDA is plugged into a power source (i.e. charging). For example, on my Visor Prism, any program that is in a Progress Dialog loop, so long as it does not generate sound, will continue to execute the loop WHILE THE PDA IS OFF such that when I turn it on later, the loop has successfully completed. However if the PDA is not charging, the loop suspends as one would normally expect.
