I have downloaded the Palm OS Cobalt Simulator and ran my program on it, and everything seems to work fine. I want to convert my application to Palm OS Cobalt. I've been reading the document "Porting Apps to Cobalt" and it suggests to run in Palm OS 5.3 simulator. I double checked to see if it would run in Palm OS 5.3 and it won't. Will I have problems running on Palm OS Cobalt even though it's working in the simulator?
It really depends what the problems are.
The different tools (5.x simulator, 6.x simulator, 4.x emulator) can expose different issues: there isn't a nice simple superset relationship since their testing and instrumentation implementations differ due to the underlying OS differences, and because simulators are radically different from emulators.
If you explain why it isn't running in the 5.3 simulator, someone might be able to predict how that might translate to a 6.0 device, whether as a 68k application running in PACE, or as a Protein application.
