Is your server running a computer with a PPP server handling the 
USB/serial port?  This is reasonably easy to accomplish with Linux but I 
don't think this will work out of the box on the various flavors of 
Windows.  Check out http://www.softick.com/ppp for a ppp server which 
runs under Windows.
