The best (read: most portable across OS versions) way is to locally "beam" vCalendar records to the Datebook using the Exchange Manager. Sure, you can add records by directly accessing the database, but that most likely will cease to work once Palm OS Cobalt comes out, unless you want to create an ARM-native version and rewrite that export code. Using the vCalendar format with the Exchange Manager, though, should continue to work without changes. After doing the same with vCard records and the address book, I can say that works, so I can't think of why vCalendar support should stop working at that point.
