something similar was already in thread 'Is that a Palm OS 3.5 bug???'.
Unfortunately there were two conditions mentioned and my case doesn't apply for any of them
I have menu bar resource with 4 menus, with actually only 3 of them are visible on the screen because of width of their texts...
on all devices I have tried (palmos>=3.5) I may hide menu items without any problems, the only exceptions was handspring pro (real device) and later while playing with simulator I found that actually handspring platinum and handspring neo (it looks they use the same rom file) behave the same. On these devices when menu should be shown I get menuOpen event, then I hide one item (it is located in first menu in menu bar and it is its 4th item (together there are 9 items in this menu) and device locks and hard reset must be done. In emulator it will actually completely lock the emulator (and if I am debugging and I kill the emulator it will kill metrowerks codewarrior as well)
I don't like the idea to have multiple menu resources and switch them, it works well but I would need too many of them (items are hiding according to 8 different options, so I would need menu resources for all combinations of these options... and I can't put them to normal screen because there is no space for them)
did anyone had similar problem? is there any simple solution?
