I'm putting together specs to have a graphics designer work on the application icon, as well as a splashscreen logo, for an application.
My application supports all devices running Palm OS 3.5 thru Palm OS 6. I want the app icon to take fullest advantage of the display capabilities of all supported devices; in other words, to look its very best. What is the least number of app icons I can get away with creating? Here's what I've come up with: 16-bit color double-density icon for Tungsten / Cli devices 8-bit color single-density for Treo 600 and IIIc 4-bit gray single-density for IIIxe, Vx and such 1-bit b/w single-density for Dana and other monochrome devices Am I forgetting about any devices here? I was unsure about a couple of things: 1) Treo 600 is apparently 11.5 bit, with 2896 colors. I didn't see that the Icon Family resource supports 11.5-bit depth. :) What's up with this? 2) Is there any device that has a double-density display that does *not* support 16-bit color? If so, I'd need to add an 8-bit color double-density icon I presume. Man, this would be a great question for the dev certification exam. :) Thanks, -Jeff Ishaq Palm OS Certified Developer -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
