As I mentioned in the Emulator forum, under the subject, "New simulator users: 3 silly (but show-stopping) problems!", I am an experienced emulator user and have never really had any significant problems. I am working on some shareware and one of my testers just got a new TE and says there is a problem. So I downloaded the simulator to see for myself. The main problem I have is that I cannot get the "Redirect Netlib Calls to Host TCP/IP" to work as it should. It works great for the emulator on the same Windows 2000 PC. I have searched the KB and escribe archives and don't see anything about these various errors. I assume the problem is there is something I need to isntall on my PC but there's nothing in the readme/dox/faq/archives. All I want to do is run DEBUG ROMs for a 5.* or 6.* simulator and ensure my app is working the way it should (and update to accomodate) but I can barely get my app to run and when I can do that, I can't access its core functionality! What am I missing? Here are the three problems I am having: #1: 6.0+Simulator_Full_EFIGS_Debug.rom: won't take the "redirect" (immediately soft reset and unsets the checkmark). #2: (this one I actually figured out) #3: 5.3Release+NTFull_enUS.rom and also 5.4Release+Simulator_Full_EFIGS_Release.rom: When opening IP socket, I get netErrInternal (after great delay). I have little doubt that the 4.* simulator responses will be far more helpful that the 3.* emulator errors but until I can get NetLib redirect working, I can't reproduce the error! P.S. I did figure out that the ROM file must always be in the same directory as PalmSim.exe for everything to startup and work well... -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
