I am interfacing a device to a Palm USB port. Is it necessary to first open the Serial Manager (or some other operation) before the USB port becomes "active", i.e. the data line bias resistors are connected?
Does your device have a USB Host interface, as opposed to USB Slave? Almost all Palm OS devices only work in slave mode right now.
And yes, the device has to open the USB port for it to become active. This is what shorting the HotSync lines does -- it activates the HS app, which then opens the port.
