Dear Developer Forums Subscribers: PalmSource is pleased to announce the availability of a web-based interface to our mailing list server.
The URL is http://news.palmos.com/read/ >From this site, you can: * Browse the list of available forums * Manage your developer forum account: change your password, change your email address, set digest/nomail settings * Subscribe to new lists or unsubscribe from current ones * Read threaded messages * Search the complete archive history (We're pretty excited about those last two, by the way!) A few words about managing your account: First, if you're having trouble logging in because of incorrect passwords, try using the "email password" button to have them sent to you directly Second, if you don't see all of your subscriptions when you login for the first time, don't panic. It's most likely because you have some subscriptions that either don't have passwords or have mismatched passwords. The server treats email addresses with different passwords assigned to them as *separate* accounts, even if it's the same email address. You can check this by using the "email password" button -- the server will send you a listing of all your forums and the password associated with each. If your passwords are out of sync, here's how to fix them: * Login and go to the "My Account" tab. * Go to the "Advanced" section. * Set a new password (or keep the current one) * Make sure the Apply Changes dropdown menu is set to apply to other subscriptions on the server * Press the "Save Changes" button * You may have to log out and back in again to get the list completely refreshed. Finally, in case anyone is wondering, the new web-based interface operates in addition to the previous access points: *Regular and digest email messages are available *The NNTP server remains in place for those who prefer to read via newsgroup at news.palmos.com *The server still accepts email command messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED], per the instructions at http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/help.html The web-based archives are an effective replacement for the eScribe and eGroups repositories. The forums currently archived with them will continue to be archived, however, they are not going to follow new forums. Feedback, comments, or requests about this change can be sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Regards, Amy Riha Developer Forums List Owner PalmSource, Inc -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
