Hello, I am a very inexperienced developer. I currently have a Targus Universal Wireless IR (Infra-red) Keyboard (model number: PA870) for my PDA, which comes only with the qwerty layout.
I was wondering if it were possible to develop another layout, namely, the DVORAK layout for this Targus Keyboard. I asked Targus to make the developer/engineering software available (just like rival company ThinkOutside did), but they said it was "confidential." I think it shouldn't be so difficult, as the only changes are transposing the keys/characters from one place to another. However, my inexperience keeps me from knowing even where to start in the task. How do I go about developing a keyboard layout? Relevant Links: The driver is available on the website of Targus at http://www.targus.com/us/Downloads/IRKeybd_v1_31.exe. http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=PA870U. Or, if all that is needed is the PRC file that is uploaded to the PDA, I have made it available on my homepage at http://keyboard.hanzjordan.fastmail.fm/ The direct link to the PRC file is http://keyboard.hanzjordan.fastmail.fm/PRC%20file%20for%20Targu%20Universal%20Wireless%20Infra-red%20Keyboard.prc I appreciate your help. I'd be deeply grateful. Jeff http://www.fastmail.fm -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
