PalmOne's description of Web Pro at
http://www.palmone.com/us/software/webpro30/
says that it "requires wireless connectivity," but I'm looking for a browser that can launch and be launched by a Palm application to view locally stored HTML content. I'm a little suspicious of the "wireless connectivity" requirement, as I seem to recall Palm stating a similar connectivity requirement for their Clipper browser which was able to show locally PQA content without requiring connectivity.
Web Pro may work for that task. Version 3.5 does have an "Open File on Card..." dialog that allows browsing of HTML files on your SD card.
I expect the "requires wireless connectivity" is there to reduce support costs -- it's easier to say you need a wireless connection than to say that you can use it without wireless, but you won't actually be able to view web sites.
As an aside, PalmOne's description of Web Pro doesn't seem to be up to date. The Zire 72 isn't listed as a device that can run Web Pro. Also, wasn't there an announcement last month that Web Pro can run on the Treo 600 (which also isn't listed)?
The Web Pro 3.0c that you can purchase from PalmOne's software store supports the Treo 600. Palm Web Pro 3.5 ships with the Zire 72, and only "supports" the Zire 72, although I've run it on my Tungsten C without problems so far.
