I have an odd developer question. Why should developers care about memory leaks in their programs? The OS cleans up the extra junk anyways. Is there a real technical reason that we would need to get rid of all memory leaks?

Adam, I see like it this. If I have a pipe that leaks water onto the floor, do I fix the leak, or do I just hope the water evaporates quickly enough! :-)
