Hi guys, I am new to Palm and all these overlay stuff.
I have done a lot of readings these days about them
and are
trying them out. I am trying to follow the overlay
instructions and am using Constructor 1.9 that comes
with the SDK.
I created the overlays successfully with Prc2Ovl. Then
I am trying to edit the overlay that was generated to
enter some different strings to try it out. However I
have never been successfully saved it after
modification using Constructor. Each time I tried to
save, it either crashes, or gave "Unknown error", or
some "error 192, can't find resource 1000", or hang
(not responding) forever. But if I edited a normal rpc
file (not overlay), then there is no problem.
Can any one help me? Anyone ran into the problem also?
I am really desparate.
Another side question: from reading, my understanding
is that the overlay mgr will automatically pick the
right translation according to system locale or user
locale. So, for example, I install myApp.prc,
myApp_enUS.prc and myApp_deGe.prc to Palm, and when
the locale is US, then it will run the En version,
when I change locale to Germany, then it will run
German version, is it correct or not?
I can't seem to find the place to switch locale on the
Palm Simulator though. Do I need to do something
specific to make the locale option available? (such as
installing some ROM?)
