Many of the ARM processors such as the Intel XScale have memory mapping and protection
facilities. When enabled, the ARM restricts user mode applications from accessing
various hardware facilities such as the coprocessor registers controling the memory
mapping. Only system service routines running in privledged (supervisor) mode can
access these facilities. Microsoft's Pocket-PC uses memory mapping and protection.
Does PalmOs also use these ARM features?

If PalmOS does not use memory mapping and protection, is it safe to assume I can
access the coprocessor registers and/or the watchdog
timers via a PNOlet?
