Hello,

if you knew the text of the fatal alert (if there is any alert at all), then
you could look for this string in the limited Palm OS sources. Sometimes you
can get a bit closer to the problem this way.

Did you check the free memory?
Try to find out whether the crash is reproducible when the condition are
changed such as when the amount of the free heap or free storage memory
changes.

Regards,
    Jan Slodicka

Subject: Apps crashing on some (but not all) Treo 600's

> Hi All,
>
> I have several apps that have been developed/tested in accordance with
Palm OS guidelines and have always worked perfectly on devices from Sony,
Palm, etc.
>
> I'm now getting reports from customers that the same apps are crashing at
random points on Treo 600 devices. However, I'm also getting reports from
other Treo 600 owners that the same apps run perfectly on their devices.
>
> Users who experience a problem will always have a crash at the same point
(eg: looking at the About screen)... but not all users experience the
problem at the same point.
>
> Has anyone else seen something like this? I've looked through the Forum
but not found any reference to intermittent Treo 600 crashes. Is it
something to do with different Treo 600 ROM builds from different mobile
operators?

> For development, I'm using an old version of Codewarrior (v6) with all the
latest SDK's installed. I would be happy to buy the latest version of
Codewarrior if I was really sure that this would fix the problem.
