Hi folks,
I have a PRC that used to work on OS 3 that she needs now to work on OS 5. I'm new to
Palm development but not to handhelds and wireless devices in general. I'm not sure if
anything other than the PRC is available; I'm not sure I will have access to whatever
the original source file(s) were.
You will probably need to recompile the source files to get this to work.
(BTW, that's a question in itself - given a PRC file which if I understand right is a compiled package, is there any way to tell what the source was, even what language it started in?)
I don't really know if there are any tags to tell what compiler was
used, but you end up with assembler code.
Is there some way to tweak a setting in the PRC so it works with OS 5? hat would the solution be here?
You CAN edit the assembler code, and there are applications out there
which simplify the task of trying to figure out which byte does what,
but if you've got a bunch of OS5 incompatibilities then I really think
this will be impossible. Just my opinion. Bob.
