Judging by the replies to this topic it seems I'm not the only one who finds the border annoying. Also, in looking at some of the leaked pictures of the upcoming PalmOne T5, it looks like the border is still there...
While not great advice, the best scheme seems to be to presume it exists and then try to take advantage of it.
