I have been looking at the VPPI sample application from the PalmOne SDK 3.0 and I am baffled. There ARMlet code for interfacing with the VPN Engine: the VPNShim. There is the VPN Sample panel plugin which gets called from the VPN control panel. What I can figure out is how the VPNShim gets executed. Unlike other ARMlets that I have seen, there are no calls to the shim from the panel application. Nor does there appear to be any loader or installation code in the sample.
When running the sample application under the PODS debugger, I see control pass to the VPN Sample but control never seems to reach the Shim ARMlet.
It looks like something is missing from the Sample or it is incomplete. I can not seem to find any more information in the PalmOne reference document (it never describes how to install or invoke a Shim but it does describe the operating interface) nor from searching the mail archives. Can anyone give me a hint?
