Hi guys, >From what I can still remember from my electronic circuitery designs(like 1 year ago now, sorry if I have sth wrong), most of the FLASH ROM's can be written bytewise, this means that if they have like 8 data lines, you must always rewrite all eight! However, I never saw a chip with a ridiculous 1kilobyte boundry! The only thing that was ever mentioned to me was that the Intel chips needed to be rewritten in sectors, but I dont quite get why you cannot put more than one record into one sector!
Well, next thing. Has anybody already heard about this constraint that you cannot write more than 10MB. I think that this is totally mad, because you worst-case need to write in sectors, and I dont actually think that the sector is much bigger than 1k. So basically, all you would need is a write buffer of 8k! Maybe however, they will soon release an upgrade that uses a smaller write/read buffer, if we only manage to raise a stink big enough. BTW, a good way to force PalmONE into helping you is to permanently mail their customer care and insist on recoup of your damages. After the third exchange, you get an upgrade, and after that its basically what the rep wants to give you! I will maybe get forced into a TT5 soon(third exchange for the TT3), but with the 10MB limit, ebooks will not be funny at all!
