Now it turns out this is a serious bug in the exchange manager. But instead of PS fixing it, the suggestion is we shall all add some coding to our apps to clean up the exchange manager preferences database!
PalmSource doesn't have a mechanism to get bug fixes out to devices. That's the reality; we release our OS to licensees, and they build devices based on that. In some cases, they release patches, but often that only occurs early in the life of a device.
We regret that this problem exists, but I do think it's better for us to explain the problem and provide a workaround than to deny it.
