Hi: This is about the TT5 and the TT5 simulator.
According to the documentation, the 5-ways keys can be simulated with the numlock OFF and then with the keypad, and as this Forum has already discussed it, this is incorrect. One needs to use ALT-keypad for the 5-ways. However, the simulator also generates extra chars after ALT-keypad, such as '?' with ALT-8. To reproduce this, go to, Memos [aka MemoPad], create a new memo, enter "aaa" in it, double click on it to select it, and then use ALT-8. You get "?aaa". The reason I described it so much in detail is that the TT5 simulator crashes very easily and the above always works. Of course, you can generate the same extra char effect in many other ways. QUESTION. What about the real TT5 device? My feeling is that the same happens since my users reported that the 5-way occasionally brings up unintended help files which come up after entering '?'. Any comments? BTW, the Treo 650 simulator doesn't have this problem.
