After having sent a notification to 'crid at developerpavilion.com', all my creator IDs have been re-linked to my account. I had to "Submit new applications", and everything is in its place again. However, I do not succeed in managing the submitted applications, the issue I mentioned in my posting dated 2004-12-22 08:22:00 has not yet been addressed.
The issue has been logged as a bug and should be fixed soon. In the meantime, update your info and submit with the bad creator ID, then do another update and change the ID back to the correct value. The problem is that the system is only presenting unassigned IDs, and since you've already assigned an ID to that app, it's not showing up on the list. Doing two updates allows you to set the correct info.
- Interesting point: When I try to get a creator ID that is already reserved, the system reserves a similarly sounding ID for me (exchange of letter capitalization).
That's a "feature", but I agree that it shouldn't be giving you an ID without asking you if it is acceptable. At least it's easy to release the ID back into the pool of available IDs.
- Is it correct that when I release (that is "delete"; the new term "release" is rather confusing) a creator ID, there is no longer a waiting period until the ID is eventually purged?
The ID should immediately be available for assignment.
- Searching for / browsing registered creator IDs is still not possible.
I don't know if this functionality is returning. Our goal is to have as many IDs as possible linked to Palm OS application records.
- PalmOS sources, ROMs, SDKs are still missing.
The older ROM images aren't going to be reposted soon. Basically, our legal team doesn't want us to redistribute any materials that have the original Graffiti engine, so we're stuck with just Palm OS 4.1.2 as something we can put online for POSE use. If the legal appeals are finally completed and we end up with the ability to use original Graffiti technology again, we will restore those.
The seeding access and Palm OS source code access areas are gone. We are working on a new legal agreement and developer program to provide access to prototype materials, and you'll hear about that next month. If you downloaded prototype materials before the change, you can still use them. If you really need something that was in the seeding area, send a note to the webmaster through the "write to us" link.
