http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/docs/dev_suite/PalmOSDebugger/DbgTool_Connecting.html indicates that there should be a custom DebugNub for the Zire 72 available.
I am having difficulties digging it out of palmone.com though. Can't seem to find it. Would someone provide a link ?

That article only applied to the original Zire (m150) 68K device. I've successfully debugged several applications on the Zire 72 device over USB with CodeWarrior for Palm OS V9.3.
The DebugNub from palmOne is only needed for debugging ARM code (like PACE Native Objects) using the Palm OS Debugger. It's not used for 68K application debugging.
