If the problem is it's trying to execute a jump that's past 32k, is there a way to trap it & see where the jump is coming from?
Not really... it's not the >32K jump that's the problem -- it's a jump through the intersegment jumptable (an offset from A5), since A5 isn't actually pointing to valid data when global variables aren't available.
