We considered this idea but rejected it. The worry was that appl/lnch does other things besides just act as a launcher; i.e., PalmOS and/or other built-in apps might be calling appl/lnch with some other launch codes that we don't know about and expects them to be handled properly. That could just be me being paranoid, though.
Just forward every non-handled launchcode to the internal launcher app. But, btw, I really doubt that someone sends any weird launchcode to the build-in launcher.
