I tested '!!Xy' for the reason that it's unlikely to have existed at all - it seems the system is converting to upper-case even if the entered ID is available. (Tested with other IDs as well.)
I tried to register 'HENK' but it was converted to 'HENk'. It doesn't really matter (I assume 'HENK' is already occupied) but the possibility to say yes or no to the suggestion would be great. I've tried it 2 times and now I'm the owner of 'HENk' and 'HEnK' :-)
BTW: Where can I check to see which CrID is registered (without to register it to myself) and maybe see which application it is?
These issues have been submitted to the web team. They're going to try to get the case issues fixed for next week, but I don't know when/if the system will be revised to let you decide to register the code.
The general "search for creator" feature isn't planned at this time. The creator code DB no longer links directly to apps; instead, we have a separate application DB that links into the creator code table.
