Does anyone know a way of having asterisks appear in a text field when a user types in a password? Specifically for the 68k API, not Protein.
This has been discussed many times in the past, so check the archives for the various solution.
One very simple solution, if you don't mind little squares instead of asterisks, is to set the field up with a built-in font that doesn't have characters defined in the normal printing range, such as Symbol11.
