I once knew a fellow that only used the built-in applications on his
Palm III -- except he had an ebook reader of some sort, and knew how
to convert text files to PalmDOC format and sync them to his device.
So, as a result, when he mentioned "PDB" files, he invariably meant a
PalmDOC E-book.

As Evan pointed out, PDB files are the desktop representation of a
Palm DataBase, and a palm database is any internally stored collection
of data. Collections of resources (bitmaps, bits of executable code,
forms, alerts, etc) are represented on the desktop using PRC files.
They're not "files" of any sort on the handheld itself - the PRC and
PDB filetypes are merely convenient ways of storing them on a desktop
computer.

If you're talking about a specific type of PDB file that you're
creating somehow (like my friend and his ebooks), you'll need to tell
us more about what you're doing. In general, though, as Evan said,
each program stores its data in its own database(s), and Hotsync
manages keeping those in sync with what's on the desktop - either
through a conduit, or by keeping the latest version of the data on the
desktop in a PDB file in your Backup folder.

Best of luck,
Brandon
