there are conduits for programs like gnome-pilot that let you
synchronize data, such as email, calendar and contacts with Evolution
(like outlook in windows), for Mobile application link (avantgo), etc.
or at least, these modules are called conduits, I think thats the concept

Doesn't 'conduit' imply a certain interface and kind of invokation? I
have a TCP/IP sync method for PalmOS <-> Win32, but that's not a
conduit, even though it syncs data ...
