On a Tungsten 3, when I tap on what used to be the Calculator
button (next to upper right corner of Graffiti area), I
receive a vchrCalc keyDownEvent, as expected. But when I
try to reassign this button by calling
PrefSetPreference( prefCalcCharAppCreator, someAppID ), the
button still calls the app it was (and still is) assigned to.
How do I programmatically reassign this button?

I guess you will have to let the system know about your
preference change.

How? This code already works fine on all other devices except the T3 (and maybe the T5, which I haven't tried).

The intention here is to let the user briefly access the calculator within the process of my application and to be able to quickly return back to it tapping the Calculator button again. What's different about the T3? (other than the fact the Calculator button changes icon in the T3's virtual Graffiti area).

I would try to broadcast for example the Reset notification. Maybe this does the trick, or maybe not.

Henk
