Benjamin, Thanks for the information.
I will review it. I actually have the pdb writing stuff coded, subject to alignment issues. That is, I have tested creation on the PC and reading on the Palm for string fields only. I was given a head start by the FozzyConvert code which I found (somehow) via the free pascal compiler web site for PP. I turned the code into objects and fixed (what I believe was) a bug along the way. Because I have taken an OO approach, I believe(hope?) that any alignment issues will be taken care of by some simple property value changes. Only time will tell. I have between 14 and 16 tables to put into my pdb. To achieve the volumes of data we aim to store, we are doing very aggressive normalization and I have the huge benefit of dealing with an (almost) read only database. Just one boolean field will be updateable. Thanks again for the pointers.
