Thanks for the information.

I will review it. I actually have the pdb writing stuff coded, subject to 
alignment issues.

That is, I have tested creation on the PC and reading on the Palm for string 
fields only.

I was given a head start by the FozzyConvert code which I found (somehow) via 
the free pascal 
compiler web site for PP.

I turned the code into objects and fixed (what I believe was) a bug along the 
way.

Because I have taken an OO approach, I believe(hope?) that any alignment issues 
will be taken care 
of by some simple property value changes. Only time will tell.

I have between 14 and 16 tables to put into my pdb. To achieve the volumes of 
data we aim to store, 
we are doing very aggressive normalization and I have the huge benefit of 
dealing with an (almost) 
read only database. Just one boolean field will be updateable.
