What I have been looking into (Thanks for the Cypress link) is an embedded USB host solution. Still looking into it, but I think it's a growing market. I had not heard about USB OTG (On the go) until yesterday which is an extension of USB 2.0 which allows two (normally) slave devices to be connected to each other and negotiate who will play host. That means that embedded hosts and OTG compliant chipsets will/are becoming more common...
