OK, I made the promised illustrative application - but can't seem to post it here. The list rejects messages with attachments. If I just cut-n-paste the texts of the various files, the leading space gets list and it will be difficult for a beginner to reconstruct the project. I'll try to publish it on some Web site and will post the link to it here.
