Hi Ben, thanks for your quick answer. I understand from some connector and signal drawings documents I found at Palm's site that the PDA USB is SLAVE, so as you mention some controller sould be used. The printer I am trying to use is compatible with many other PDAs with OS 5, including Tungsten and Zire 71, but not with Zire 31, so I guess the problem is not a software but a hardware problem with the USB connector.
That?s why I am trying to find the connector signal specification document for Zire 31, to compare and see where the difference is and try to make a custom cable. The Zire 31 just has a USB mini-B connector. This is USB Device mode only, so to hook up to a USB printer, you'll need some controller in the middle of the connection that acts as a USB host for both the printer and the Zire 31. -- Ben Combee, Senior Software Engineer, palmOne, Inc.
