PalmSource is a software company, and makes the OS which gets licensed to
various hardware companies to put on their devices.  Think Microsoft.

palmOne is a hardware company which makes PDAs and smartphones and licenses the
OS from PalmSource.  Think Dell.

However, device specific features such as those on the Treo 600/650 are made by
the hardware vendor (palmOne in this case), and as such they are the ones who
have to make a simulator with Treo specific features.

PalmSource can issue a simulator with the generic OS, but only the hardware
vendor can issue a simulator with their own propreitary extensions.

If the names were PalmSource and Sony, it would be the same concept but perhaps
less confusing.
