My goal is to not have my application copied to the desktop computer during HotSync.
I am finding conflicting documentation, postings, and real-world experience regarding the Backup Bit.
Some docs say that not setting the Backup Bit will prevent a database from being backed up.
Some docs say that the Backup Bit means 'the application has changed, so download a new copy from the PC to the device at next HotSync'.
I have found lots of messages posted here and elsewhere saying that the Backup Bit must be set to have a database copied to the desktop during HotSync.
In practice, I have tried both setting and clearing the Backup Bit (via CodeWarrior, Mac, 8.3, PalmRez Post Linker, Set Backup Bit checkbox), and either way my application's PRC gets copied to my desktop system during HotSync.
Am I setting the wrong bit? Am I misunderstanding something?
