It can probably be fixed (i.e., you can force the browser to use the site nevertheless) by fiddling with the settings of the security zones but it's probably easier simply to use another browser. Unfortunately, Mozilla Firefox doesn't work either - although it doesn't display any kind of error; just a blank page. However, I discovered that Opera works and can access the site and download stuff from there.
