I'm not sure how you'd carry out that head-count. Perhaps the
easiest way is for someone to establish a Yahoo group and invite
subscriptions. That's an easy way for the Mac users to say "This
is who we are and we want it now".

Actually, the easy way is to email Tom Chavez; he's in charge of the developer tools and Java at PalmSource, so he's right there in the decision-making loop when it comes to if or when a Mac version of the Palm OS Developer Suite will be available. If you're interested in a Mac version, let him know. Be gentle. I have to work with him, and I don't want him cranky. :)

A working developer won't necessarily have the time to sift these forums and notice the request for mac developers to weigh in on their need for PODS/Eclipse. My guess is that you probably won't get that many emails.

I think a lot of non-windows folks are likely to hang with what they currently have and they'll check out PODS for their platform when it suits their needs. After all, Codewarrior or prc-tools is still adequate for existing Palm OS devices.

That said, I know the mac palm community has made some headway integrating prc-tools with Xcode. What about the option of giving the Mac and Linux folks the PalmSource command-line tools and documentation for their platforms? There are other free IDEs besides Eclipse, and if we have the pieces, I'm sure people will step in and make it work.

Oh, and cross-platform simulators would be nice, since I'm making a wish list.
