Installing HotSync Manager is the user's responsibility; that installs HotSync.exe and a whole lot of additional stuff, including dozens of DLLs.
Your installer should not install HotSync Manager; it should assume that HotSync Manager is already present, and use the Conduit Manager API and HotSync Manager API to do install and register the conduit. I have a simple installer that does the job using only the APIs documented in the C++ SyncReference (no Generic Conduit needed, so it can be built using MSVC++ 6.0). If you're interested, let me know and I'll send you a copy of the source code. - Thomas -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
