thanks, but the question is how to copy a DB with records larger than 64K
and this really leads to the problem sketched in my original post. File
streaming API reformats the DB, so it does not provide an answer to this
problem. (Standard ExgDBRead solution cannot cope with this problem either.)

Yo could check the Palm OS File Streaming Api. This Api lets you save
"Files" bigger than 64K (they are saved as databases but you don't
have to worry about how it works, just read or write the file).
