That was always my preferred method as well (and still is for devices other than
the T5).

I don't think it is the HotSync per se, as the E2 still works with Pilot
Install.  I suspect it is more related to the Drive Mode support.  On the T5,
when docked you can hear the wav file from the USB port being opened, and
closing again as you invoke a Hot Sync.  This happens even when Drive Mode is
turned off on the device.

Piilot Install seems to choke on the fact the USB port is evidently already
open, resulting in the cryptic Error 10(a) message.

I tried the envicon webpage support link a few times, but would get error
messages on submission and never heard back from them.  :(  It is a shame,
because I otherwise really like Pilot Install.
