I distribute a couple of freeware PalmOS apps (mainly as a hobby), and
I have received a couple of reports from users with Treo 650s. They
claim when they run the apps they get a white screen (or in one case
that they can see buttons, but not a drawn image).
I have not been able to reproduce the problem. The apps appear fine
on the Palm 5 simulator, the old 3.5 Emulator, and on my Tungsten E.
It also works fine on a Treo at Fry's (running Garnet 5.4.5) I
surreptitiously downloaded it on. Both apps have been around and
stable quite a while, and the lack of problem reports leads me to
believe the problem is something not commonly encountered.
I'm really at loss as to what to try next. Has anyone heard of
drawing-related problems on the Treo 650? I have searched the
archives and not found anything relevant.
Thanks in advance,

Hi Paul. You said that it worked fine on a "Palm 5 sim", but was it the
Treo650 sim? The 650 is somewhat different from a lot of other OS5
devices in how and when it decides to repaint info on the screen,
although perhaps more and more of the new devices are like this. For
instance, you have to handle the FrmLoad and FrmUpdate events both,
whereas on some other devices, T600 for instance, you could have been
getting away with only handling the FrmOpen event. The Treo650 sim is
quite illuminating in this regard. FWIW. Bob
