There is a bug in hot sync manager 6.0.0 and 6.0.1 that will have this effect with some conduit architectures. The crash is very ugly as the desktop hot sync manager crashes but looks like the hot sync is continuing normally. You need to kill it with the task manager or a reboot. The handheld also appears to be hot syncing normally and will do so for hours if left alone. The handheld will require a soft reset. Subsequent hot syncs will also hang after the first hot sync crash.

The bug has been fixed by PalmSource supposedly in the yet to be released hot sync manager 6.0.2. The LifeDrive ships with 6.0.1. We stumbled on this problem last year when testing the Addit conduit before the T5 release. The bug doesn't effect all conduits. Applications like AvantGo and ePocrates don't appear to have any problems. We built a work around for this bug and have a modular piece of code that can be incorporated into effected conduits to fix the problem.

I have an application that syncs data with the desktop and has been working fine. A new
user with a LifeDrive reports that it installs and runs okay on the handheld, but
"hangs" during the sync operation. None of the databases are all that large,
but it syncs about 20 of them. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? The app was
written in Satellite Forms/CW.
