Is there a way that will work with at least version 3.x or later to
retrieve the default creator IDs for the standard hard keys? Or is that
information solely known by the Buttons preference panel? I know how to
get the CURRENT creator IDs... that's not what I'm asking.
The reason for this is to make a popup for assigning app-specific
functions to those keys on devices where vendors may have changed the
default meanings of those keys from what they were originally (for
example, on the m125, the Memo Pad key has become Note Pad), but I don't
want to have to keep up with every change that different vendors might put
into each of their devices and release app updates just for that. Since
the key codes are the same in all of those cases, I could just go with my
standard "the order is the same, figure it out", but I'd like to make it a
little bit friendlier.
