I don't know if it helps in this case, but we made a good experience with
this procedure:
Check the errors from Dm* calls. If the error comes from VFS layer
((err&vfsErrorClass) == vfsErrorClass), then it is an indication of an NVFS
problem. In such case try to do something differently. Maybe reopen your log
database. In any case do not call DmSyncDatabase as it can go just wrong.
