I am coming late to this discussion, but setting the "DB Version" ( in Edit/<ProjectName> Settings/PRC File Settings with CodeWarrior 9.2" ) to a higher number in the new app, then running it, causes the OS to pop up a dialog to allow the user to overwrite the older app.
