I agree, the documentation and sample code are confusing. The TestFiveWay sample provided with the palmOne SDK uses two different code paths for old devices and new devices depending on whether or not a couple of libraries can be loaded. I can't find any documentation to explain what these libs are or why the sample does this and, as far as I can tell, the sample isn't setting the form mode either way.
